Updating dxFeed NinjaTrader data Plug-in

New releases of the dxFeed NinjaTrader data Plug-in contain various improvements and fixes. Their goal is to ensure that users receive a more stable software performance and a better experience with the provided service overall.

In order to ensure a smooth transition to a new version, we strongly recommend following these steps:

1. Install the latest version of the NinjaTrader application. The latest versions not only provide a number of enhancements and new features but also support more stable operation with our plug-in versions.

   To find and install the latest NinjaTrader release, log in to your NinjaTrader account via the following link: NinjaTrader

   Note

   In NinjaTrader version 8.1.1.0 and higher, you need to enable Multi-provider mode in order to have access to the dxFeed connection. Go to Tools → Options → General → Multi-provider.

2. Clear Historical Data stored in the database of the application.

   Caution

   It will delete all stored historical data that was previously accessed with dxFeed or other data providers.

   To do so: 

   a) From the main panel of the NinjaTrader go to Tools - Historical;

   

   b) Right-click on “Historical Data” and press “Remove”;

   

   с) In case you used Market Replay before, clear the data for it the same way.

3. Clear user-added instruments.

   Caution

   It will delete all instruments that were previously added via dxFeed Connector or otherwise to the NinjaTrader database.

   To do so:

   a) From the main panel of the NinjaTrader go to Tools - Database Management;

   

   b) Check two boxes: Remove user-added instruments and Remove used added instrument lists;

   c) Press “Update” next to each one.

   

4. Restart NinjaTrader platform.

   Note

   After that, you will need to add symbols to the dxFeed Connector again if you need to access them in the native NinjaTrader windows.
